Implementing NIST CSF

The National Institute of Standards and Technology developed the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF) specifically to aid in se-curing our nation’s critical infrastructure—but it is useful for almost any organization. A thorough compendium of information security rules and guidelines, NIST can be an invaluable resource for improv-ing your enterprise’s security posture.

NIST also developed NIST 800-53, a set of controls to help with NIST CSF compliance, which is voluntary, as well as compliance with other frameworks. NIST 800-53, considered the cybersecurity bi-ble among federal agencies, specifically governs compliance with the Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 200 (FIPS 200), mandatory for government-affiliated entities
